Um....Sorry, MarkEverest, but Britain changed the law to include the rape of men under their rape laws in the mid-90s.
It is absolutely possible for a woman to rape a man. Penetration by a man into a woman's vagina is NOT required for a rape charge and that is from the UK site I was looking at to determine if I was the misinformed one. Women can use vibrators, fingers, or objects to penetrate a male and that is also rape.
As for the erection and also ejaculation, it has NOTHING to do with a man wanting the sexual contact. It is a biological response and nothing more. Plus, there is a bundle of nerves called the protate that can be touched by penetrating the rectum. That causes an erection pretty quickly and also ejaculation if stimulated enough.
I've done too much research and read too many accounts and I can honestly say that some men who are raped ejaculate and have erections the whole time they're sobbing through an attack.
Also, men tend to 'freeze' more than women because of the disbelief of what is happening to them. While it's terrifying for women, most women at least know that it does happen sometimes. Men usually are caught completely off guard because it never once occurred to them it was even possible.

No, it doesn't mean he wants it. Women raping men is definitely a rare case, and it most often refers to child abuse (Older woman on male child) or it implies some sort of blackmail/manipulation on the woman's part. Very rarely is it something forced, where the man is restrained and forced to take it. But erections don't mean that the men want it. Erections are controlled by the body when it senses a sexual situation occuring, completely independent of the mind. Many men who are raped by men get an erection in the process when they clearly don't want it. The same thing occurs in woman on man rape.

It is entirely possible. Going by your argument, if a woman orgasms during rape, does that mean she wanted it or enjoyed it? An erection is a physical reaction to stimuli, the desire to have sex is an emotional and mental feeling.
The notion of what you suggest is the reason why many woman don't report rape, and hardly any men. A man can be raped just as easily as a woman, regardless of the state of his penis.

In theory, like with females, the male only has to say no to the other person. If the other person than carries on irrespective, then it is acting against the persons will - and it would normally be classified as rape. An erection doesn't constitute consent, as there are many reasons why one could have an erection.

an erection is purely a response to a physical action in the case of rape, by getting one the man in no way is condoning the actions of the woman. so yes a woman can rape a man

Erection is strictly a reflex action and can have little to do with arousal----ask any teenage male (heck, ANY male) who has suddenly developed an embarrassing erection at a completely inopportune time.
A lot is going to depend on how specifically the local law is written in terms of what constitutes "rape"---but certainly a female can penetrate a male anally, no erection on his part needed.
And if memory serves, even the most shallow penetration of a female's genitals by a penis qualifies as rape (that is, ejaculation is NOT necessary to prove offense), so forcible intercourse despite the victim's very flaccid penis could still qualify, IMHO.

Yes, just because he has an erection doesn't mean he defintely wants to have sex. He might get turned on by a women but does not want to cheat because he has a girlfriend or wife for example. If you force him into sex whether he hasnt or has an erection that is still rape.

MarkEverest, your training as a police officer has failed you. Yes, a woman can in fact rape a man... and if they are not training you on that wherever you are learning the law then I am afraid you are being shafted (pun intended...)
Yes, a woman can rape a man. It is rare only because it does not get reported as much because many men are afraid that it will "shame" them. Rape is not about sex... and as some others so earnestly pointed out... it is possible to have sexula effects... orgasam, ejaculation... even during rape.
My husband is in the service and he is required to be trained on both types... rape from a man to a woman and woman to a man... as well as same sex rapes. Just because Britain's law doesn't recognise it does not mean that it is so...

Yeah it's possible. If they don't want to and the woman forces sexual acts on them it's rape! If there's an erection it's still rape because guys can't help it when they get one. It's kind of like saying "women can't get raped because their ....doesn't open" Girls can have orgasms during childbirth and all kinds of weird things so YEAH, just because it happens doesn't mean he or she is giving consent....or is at all enjoyable. Rape is when someone says no, but is forced to no matter what gender.

just because a man has an erection doesn't mean that he likes the sex. that's not true. a guy can be raped by another male and in up with an erection, that doesn't mean he liked the sex.
