Denmark for it's prince Hamlet wondering :there is something wrong in Denmark!
In Scandinavian circles Denmark is known for really good pastries and cheese and beer and sausages; jolly, good natured, friendly people with an impossible language -truly, this Germanic language all Scandinavians can read but when the Danes open their mouth and swallow half of the words and pronounce all words together without separating them -truly hard to understand. Some frustrated neighbours call it a throat disease, not a language -but they do speak English and German well.
Author H.K Andersen is world famous with his story of the ugly duckling, the little mermaid, the emperor's new clothes among others or author Karen Blixen with her Africa. One of the most famous philosophers: S. Kierkegaard was Danish .
They make relly wonderful furniture from wood and design nice clothes and china and glass and have nice modern architecture.
They also are pretty liberal , have quite a lot of foreigners having moved in -were on the pages in media for months last year after publishing comic strips of Muhammed.
people are well educated -and it is nice to bicycle in this country with things safe and sound. A lot of wind mills around nowadays -as it often blows and they make electricity and are environmentally conscious.
In Nordic population statistics Danish women and Finnish men died young , Danish women for their smoking and drinking most probably -but it has decreased-nothing you would notice on streets.
So -go and by some Danish pastries or Tuborg beer and sausages/ham and enjoy life -!
regards
mary a , a neighbor
ps. go to Wikipedia to find more things -like about the Vikings, the Danish are also famous for!

i have been there quite a lot but i am a Malaysian. if you ask me in the sense of tourism i would have to say. without a doubt the Mermaid. and just a little walk from there you can see the royal castle and every hour you can see the change of guards.
then of course comes the tivoli, (funfair) it is amazing especially during the christmas season.
and denmark is also known for Hans Christian Andersen. and his museum
OH! and the Lego . you can vist the legoland in Billund. but it is only open during summer and not winter

That they make fool of you to begin with.
That they make fake beer from maize. Malts is to expensive to be use.
They sell you very cold beer so you can't taste how bad it really is.
They have a very strict hierarchy, but not as bad as the Germs.
Well otherwise it is a nice country and a nice people, but it is impossible to come close to them.
