Why are you even asking this question? Of course YES! They are the best of the best! Nobody beats Pink Floyd. Nobody. I, myself am obsessed with Pink Floyd; they didn't do interview stuff and their CD covers were always not of them.
To give you my answer in a nutshell: Yes, Pink Floyd IS the greatest rock band in history.

Aye...until 1973 and they thereafter turned into prog-rock nightmares. That may sound harsh and will induce a few 'thumbs down' votes, but the aura and influence of Mr. Barrett had totally gone by Dark Side Of the Moon. Everyone else had caught up by the year in question...with a few bands even outshining the Floyd, for they had nowt else to impress with.

I think that accolade should go to the Beatles but I do love Pink Floyd. I'll never forget seeing them live at Live 8 and behind the stage I could see Battersea Power Station (for real) illuminated in the darkness; ******* awesome.

Pink floyd happens to be one of my favorite bands. I can't go on a long trip without listening to Darkside of the Moon or Wish You Were Here.

Dark Side of the Moon has to be the world's most famous album, and Pink Floyd is certainly one of my favourite bands.

As I get older I realise that the words of the song "Time" ring ever more true.

If you don't count the Stones, Metallica, Audioslave, Black Sabbath, The Eagles, GnR, Judas Priest, Kiss, The Beatles, Motley Crue, the Chili Peppers, The Steve Miller Band, and The Doors, then HELL YES!

I have to agree. Went to all six nights of The Wall at Earls Court in 1980, the Division Bell/Pulse tour, Live 8, and Roger Waters at Hyde Park this year. All superb. God's music!!!!

And have tickets for Roger Waters at Earls Court next year. Can't wait.

too true ! i've loved their music since i was 15 years old. the lyrics, music, imagery, everything just combines together so well. i think their film 'the wall' shows this perfectly.... their best album, in my opinion, has to be Pulse, purely because u get a good selection of songs, and u also get the sound of the audience, which adds to the whole effect. my favourite songs are 'wish u were here' and 'comfortably numb' ,
