A magnet is a magnetically charged piece of matter or energy. Magnetism is an invisible force much like static electricity. If you rub a baloon on your head it is attracted because of opposite electrical energy. Magnets are attracted because of opposite energy. They can also repel each other because the two sides of enegy are "fighting" to be "dominant".
