something creative; sketches, poems, etc... or if not artistically inclined, reproduce existing works that mean something to you into a homemade card, adding a personal touch of some sort - a dedication, or decoration.

If you are Christians, plan on attending church. Assuming that you have a small amt of money if you pull your finances together, buy $5 food gift cards from fast food rest - spend the day with your boyfriend passing them out to the homeless or those that look like they could use it. Or, if you you live in a cold climate, buy inexpensive gloves, hats and scarves - wrap them and pass them out to the homeless. My friend who can well afford Christmas, did this with her husb. last year and said it was so much fun and so rewarding to them, they will do it again this year.

Create a mini movie if you have a scanner and a DVD burner on your computer. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP, there is a Movie Maker that came with it.
Start, All Programs, Accessories, down to Windows Movie Maker.
I did this for our Anniversary last year - my husband loved it! He told everyone about it, and next thing I knew I was doing one for my niece for her Graduation.
Best of luck to you both, and Merry Christmas.

When my in laws had purchased a lake lot, my husband and I made a "gift certificate" on our computer which entitled them to our help for whatever they needed, as they needed help with builiding some things, putting up the deck etc.
