Hi my boyfriend is buying me the tom tom one GB for crimbo and ive been looking at them on the web and in every description it says it has a plug and go feature does this mean i need to have it plugged into the ciggerette lighter the whole time im using it? thanks in advance for answers

it says in the info it has a recharage able battery and you can walk around using it so can i just charge it use it? without having the wires in the car?

In general, yes, though some can be powered by batteries. Still, it's better to use the cigarrette power adapter. Get a Y-adapter if you worry about running out of plugs.

I think the plug and go feature means you plug it in and it works with no complex setup steps. It needs power to work so it either has to be plugged in or hard wired into the car
