The most important thing is that you feel happy, attractive, confident and comfortable in your outfit. If you love it and your boyfriend loves it then don't worry if it is a bit grand for the venue - it's a party, enjoy it!

If you don't feel happy in the outfit, then you need to say something like "I want to look nice for you on your big day but I think this other dress would be even better and I want to save the brown dress for Christmas" rather than say anything that would hurt his feelings.

It looks like a lovely dress to me, so I would say go for it and enjoy being the star of the show!

If you don't want to wear it for him that much (even though it is his birthday), sort yourself out something else nice that you do like for reserve and accidentally damage this dress an hour before you are due out!

Or better still, be honest with him, explain why you don't want to wear it, promise to change into it when you and he get home, so then he can unwrap his present! I'm sure he will understand. He will get what he wants, you what you want and if he still insists then not only is it plan A (above) but you will know he only wants it for 'everyone else's' benefit!

Have fun, be confident and look great, whatever you wear.

Not exactly the right dress for a Harvester due but hey if it pleases him and get other guests to dress up and you'll be fine. You never know where the evening will end up and at least you will have made the effort. Have a fun time and Good Luck.

If.......
it is cold wear a sweater that sort of go with the dress. And if you don't know if anyone else is going to dress up, ask some of the other guests that are going to the party, or bring a change of clothes just in case

properly you wanna be tender, and that i doubt you would be comfortable by using exhibiting off the legs you do unlike, and that i think of that is too chilly for shorts :O yet i'm up north, soo.. :P you should placed on skinny denims and a few heels with a very good embellished actual :D common, it consistently works, possibly black denim, pink actual, silver footwear, whether they are residences - that is my in demand colour combination. and you should apply some liquid liner and wing it out to look like a cat eye and use little or no liner going halfway throughout the time of your waterline from the outer corners.

That's not too bad, so long as everyone else you're with is dressed up too.
