To our eyes it would be pitch black due to the lack of sensitivity to other forms of electromagnetic energies. But if our eyes were sensitive enough to detect other forms of energy like gamma-ray vision or extremely low frequency radio waves, the universe wouldn't be so dark!

Well there are an awful lot of stars out there - but yes, for the most part if you are far away from any Star, it's very very black. There is some degree of background infrared radiation, but it's fairly dim and only at a few pips above absolute zero.
You would still see stars, they would be of varying brightness depending on their components and your local conditions (for instance if you were in a dust cloud you would see a lot fewer stars than in open space) and you would still see distant galaxies and such, but it would be as dark and as cold as space ever gets - and honestly thats pretty dark and cold.
I guess it depends on what you mean by Pitch Black.

Light comes out of the stars, and nebulae, and galaxies, so there is light in outer space. But the light spreads out and so if you're not near a star (i.e. near a solar system) then it might be pretty dark, but not quite pitch black. You'd still see stars.

practically it is very dark like you can not read a book but in the distant you will see some stars. it means around you it is too dark but in the distant you can see star lights. the space is filled with light but almost unnoticeable with naked eyes because mostly stars are very distant from each other.
Otherwise it is a question of human eye light sensing limitation.

All the light is there in space that eventually makes it to earth. Sense there is almost nothing out there u cant see it ,and the energy can pass through space without loosing a large portion.

Hi. You would not find ANY place in space where there was no light. Stars, galaxies, nebulae, all give off light.
