Our pastor didn't charge us anything.

Our pastor said-- " I never charge for weddings but I will charge for a divorce."

Usually, the blessing and/or wedding service itself is free. Most pastors are happy to hold a wedding service and will go pretty much anywhere to do it - a garden, park, your home... The only costs that might be involved is if you were renting the entire building/church for the service. Some churches charge a fee to use the reception hall (think full kitchens, bathrooms, tables and chairs...). To avoid this cost my husband and I were married in a garden. The pastor we chose gave a beautiful short not-pretentious blessing, and as a thankyou we gave him some money in a thank you card. Nothing over $50 or so should ever be expected... cheaper than the justice of the peace which charged us $20 per copy of our license. Church vs state - church won this round. ;)

I'll do it for free........ I am a licensed minister.

But you'll have to pay my air fare and my hotel and meal expenses while I'm there. That should run about $2450.00

Sould like it's too much?

Ok go to a church...let the minister bless you, which they do for free, and make a donation to the church in an amount you can handle.

And people wonder why I turned athiest...geesh. But I'm still a minister.

Depends where you are I suppose.

At my local church the charges are:

Church and minister: £60 (or free if you're a church member)

Church officer: £60

Organist (if you want one): £60
