you should always use a spoon- feeding cereal through a nipple is a choking hazard- although i do know alot of people still do it. but why risk it? just be patient and expect the first few times to be messy. baby probably will only eat a few bites the first times, if that. remember, he needs to learn to eat from a spoon anyway. also, ALWAYS feed baby in an upright (sitting) position and offer the bottle to wash the cereal down afterwardds. good luck and don't forget to take pics of those first bites ;-)

Mix the cereal as directed on the box and DO feed from a bowl with a spoon. Cereal will only clog a nipple (as you have discovered). Also, the American Academy of Pediatrics does NOT recommend cow's milk until 1 year of age (so again, mix the cereal as directed on the box - with breast milk, formula, or water). Finally, if the baby doesn't want the cereal, don't sweat it. Formula/Breast milk can be given exclusively until 6 months of age.

Actually i use fast nipples and poke the hole so it is a little bit bigger. My baby eats a cereal bottle before bed everynight she is going on 4 months. I use almost all cereal we make it really thick she loves it with a lil juice!

No. Take a needle, and make the hole in the nipple wider. The needle makes it slightly bigger so that the cereal can come through and not at a rate that causes choking.

Yes, They (doctors) say that is the best way. But i had twins and i used a bottle and just made the hole bigger, but you have to be careful not to get it to big due to they could chock. Doctors also say cereal to early can give them allergies later in life. One of my twins has allergies and the other does not .

get nipples with larger holes...or there are feeders that use vaccuum to pull thick food (cereal or baby food) into the nipple ( they have much larger holes) when baby sucks...I used these with both my children...also, keep some apple juice or grape(white) juice handy just in case baby gets constipated when introducing solid food...hope this helps!!!

DUH! Cereal is meant to be fed via a spoon but if you choose to put into the formula you would do so at a higher volume of formula. IE: 1 TBSP. cereal + 7 oz. of Formula = if this isn't enough experiment or water down the formula a bit
