I would concede that, according to the Bible, homosexuality is condemned and is considered sinful. But for me that's not the end of the matter. I don't uncritically believe every word in the Bible, and I suspect most people do not either, even those who consider themselves the epitome of piety. It is a sin to be Black!- What's wrong with that statement? It strikes a rational person as absurd because it casts blame on someone for something over which they had no control. I suspect that if the Bible declared it a sin to be Black, nearly everyone would ignore that portion of the Bible because it would strike them as nonsensical. Nonsensical for blaming someone for something that can't help. Likewise, when society begins to realize that homosexuality is not a choice but that genetic and environmental factors influence one's sexuality (neither of which involves choice), we will retire the verse in Leviticus that denounces homosexuality. Some people will, of course, insists that homosexuality is a choice, but they will do so in the face of an overwhelming body of sound social science that demonstrates that sexuality is not chosen. Rather, the studies show, sexuality is determined by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, not choice. After all, did anyone choose to be straight? Admittedly, some people may choose to do homosexual acts in order to experiment, etc. But to believe that all homosexuals are just experimenting and choosing to have homosexual feelings is to focus on the trees but ignore the forrest.
In any event, though religion can in many ways be beneficient for society, it can likewiese prove destructive when we choose to believe something uncritically instead of exercising reason and considering what our hard-working scientists and scholars have to say about a subject. When your car is broken, you take it to the mechanic because he knows about cars. Well, when you have a question about whether sexuality is chosen, why not ask the social scientists? They are, after all, the experts. And you're more than welcome to disagree with them, but you must do so in a way that utilizes reason and science, not dogma.
Once people begin to subject their beliefs to the scrutiny of reason, the Bibilican condemnation of homosexuality will join Exodus' endorsement of slavery and Genesis' statement of women's inferiority in the "recycling bin."

If you are having a sexual relationship with someone who is of the same sex as you, yes it is a sin. Also you are not married and you're having sex, that's a sin too. Homosexuality is going against God's laws! Open your Bible and read it for yourself, you should know this. Just because this practice is becoming so popular, so open and so accepted doesn't mean that it is the right behavior to participate in. God did not create us to be a homosexual and when we are, we are disrespecting God and ourselves too. He still loves us all because we are all his children but he is shaking his head NO to that kind of behavior.

Although biblical scholars are not agreed, generally yes if you are Christian. If you are not a Christian, the answer will vary by your beliefs. For example, Reform and Conservative Jews don't believe it's a sin; Orthodox Jews do believe it's a sin. Humanists don't, and atheists can decide for themselves.
Sin is really not a constant except for the very devout; it is determined by society. For example, in the early 20th century, taking heroin was quite fashionable, and not illegal; and in the 19th century, the British government made a lot of money out of opium sales, and running opium smoking houses. We now consider these things 'sinful'. On the other hand, eating meat and dairy on the same plate (like a cheeseburger) is expressly condemned as a sin in Leviticus; it's now considered OK. As is eating pork, having your ears pierced, tattoos, and wearing polyester-cotton clothing; all forbidden as sins in the Bible!

Not to me. Not that I believe in "sin", but I think a "sin" would be killing someone, selling drugs to kids. A guy having sex with another guy hurts no one and shouldn't be on the same playing field as killing and harming others.

SIN has nothing to do with the legal system.
by definition, most religions say it is wrong. but religions no longer have authority of law in most countries in the world.
if you are in a same-sex relationship, don't feel guilty. just be yourself and enjoy it!

According to the Bible, yes.
God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality and other sexual perversion.
This is where we get the term sodomy, which is unnatural sexual intercourse. Biblically, homosexuality falls into that category. It is mentioned in the Bible several times as being sinful.
