I worked there for a few months and here are the reasons everyone should not buy their clothing:
1) all their "customer service" is a manipulative way to give you a cart or bag so you will grab more, try it on and then not really realize how much money you are spending.
2) they push credit cards on people who obviously can not afford to open a credit card (given many of the common customers I encountered at my store were missing many teeth) also I think I had more people declined for a card than accepted for one.
3) all the clothing is made badly. At least 10-15 people would bring back clothing because it was defective on every shift I worked. Would we send it back to the manufacturer as defective? No we were told to just put it back out on the floor if it wasn't too noticable. Even stuff that had stains on it from other customers
4) the stores are usually a mess becaus they are not allowed to put product in back stock, everything has to be out on the floor.
& the list could go on!

I now work at Banana Republic and I can tell you that Old navy is truley the red headed step child of Gap INC. nDon't buy Old Nay clothing it is a waste of money. One wash=you new shirt going into the trash

No obviously I wasn't fired because I wouldn't be able to work at another GAP INC store if that were the case.

I am just lettig the truth out about what POS store it is. I am watching out for the consumer

Also, I use to ove Old Navy back in the 90's, their clothing quality has depreciated significantly over the years. I know I am not the only one who has noticed. Save your self the time, money and aggrivation and just spend a few dollars more at another store. I agree that the kids clothes are ok but as far as adults... stay clear.

Only time you should buy adult clothes from them is if you are payign 75 cents because that probably how much it cost them to make the thing

I do notice that some of the pieces of clothing are made poorly. I paid 30 dollars for a sweater hoodie. The first time i washed it, the thread and fuzzies came out allll over my laundry. I had to clean out the lint draw 6 times while drying my clothes. It sucks b/c im not itty bitty, i have a real womans body. i like the fact that they sell true sizes for all women. However, i will agree that the clothes are poorly made. I would rather spend 80 dollars on a sweater that will not pill and unravel after one washing rather than try to save a few bucks.

btw, dont judge people on appearences lol just b/c they are missing teeth doesnt mean they cant get a credit card. i also will agree that every store will push credit cards on you, its the point of owning a business, to make money. However, sometimes it is annoying, but i just always tell them "no thank you" regardless. :) However, if H&M came out with a credit card, i would be the first to sign up :-X

I love Old Navy and I have never had a prob I love their childrens clothes too they fit my kids better than any other brand and I wash their clothes constantly and they never get holes like the other clothes I get from Target and Walmart. I know you probably know alot about the place that is why you are so critical but you are right it is a cheaper store than Gap and Banana Rep. but if you are not looking to spend a fortune then go to Old Navy b/c I splurge if I go to Gap and I stear clear of BR b/c they are too pricy plus I don't like that style anyway I 'm more casual at home and work.

Not all Old Navy stores are like that its just that the people who work at some stores ruin it for people's perspectives. Trust me I know what your talking about... but not every Old Navy store is like that.... But yes I do think some of their stores should hire people with better attitudes and people who will do their job and not be lazy about it. But I love some of their clothing

I hate Old Navy. There clothes suck. They are cheaply made and fall apart. I hate there commercials and I'm glad that old lady kicked the bucket. She was so annoying and I don't like the dog "Magic" either. I guess you hit a nerve, but I really despise Old Navy.

I would get navy. Because I have had Black flip flops before and the sun got attracted to them so then my feet felt like they were burning and they got sweaty

Don't know, maybe it's the mob thing or they want to belong to the group, be cool,
They want to contribute to the Wal-Mart fortune.
They like buying clothes
Don't like looking at the label see if it's made somewhere say China.
Me, I just find things I like, if it happens to be what others like or are buying then so be it.
I try to buy North American though

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

there prices are right in line with other cheap, mass marketers that target people on a budget.

You have to look over what you are buying. And it definately is not a place you want to get your whole wardrobe from, unless you are on a budget.
