Since many Hollywood movies are made to make money..they are basically cr*p..w/ main themes being sex etc..sex sells..
For me, it's embarrassing to know people in other countries are watching these movies and thinking that that is how Americans act etc..(I know we should not take what we see on tv and in movies as true, but that does not stop anyone from doing so..)
Plus Hollywood uses to much CG, less is more sometimes....
And since when did Hollywood have or care about promoting morals...

I'm one to believe that art truly imitates life, and that includes the movies. Many movies that were relevant 30 years ago would be considered irrelevant now
Movies can educate the ignorant, if the proper amount of research is done. When 'Titanic' was the rage, everyone was suddenly an amateur Titanic historian. There are numerous other movies that accomplish this, also, this was just off the top of my head.
As far as bad ideas, I don't think movies are any more dangerous than say, heavy metal music. People like to blame the ills of the world on the arts, and to that I say whatever negative thoughts come from the minds of people were probably already there in the first place. People just need a scapegoat to feel better about themselves.

I don't think that the movies in Hollywood are having a negative impact on the world. I think the absurdity of the celebrity society in Hollywood is. The media focuses on all the wrong things in this society and makes it all look like a freak show rather than showing the good things that some celebrities are potentially capable of doing. It makes people outside of Hollywood think too highly of the wrong things.

unfavourable. Hollywood purely portrays "tremendously human beings". If administrators and writers tried to incorporate good issues into video clips and tv exhibits, then the end result will maximum def. be beneficial yet those situations replaced. the international has become desensitized to the easy pleasures of existence and that pisses me off! there is not any beneficial to Hollywood. each little thing that will improve understanding or something like that are generally non-earnings agencies.

I think you are going to find a familiar theme in the answers here. Life imitates art...Art imitates life. However I feel Hollywood's greatest sin is, "Art does NOT imitate life" Hollywood has to make everyone look glamorous. You are not going to find beautiful, blond, blue-eyed, 5'-9", 110 lb hookers standing on the corners of any downtown. The drug dealers arrested are not going to be handsome, black haired Colombians, who look like Antonio Banderas. The cops don't look like Colin Farrell or Denzel Washington.
Whatever we see on the screen whether it is the big silver one or the small one in our home, we dress like it we talk like it, we wear our hair like it, we want to drive it, etc..
Everybody wanted to be a medical examiner when the TV show Quincy came out years ago. Now, here we go again with C.S.I.
John Travolta wore disco clothes in "Saturday Night Fever",we all danced Disco: he wore cowboy hat and boots in "Urban Cowboy", and we all learned to two-step, he wore a black suit in "Pulp Fiction", and we all passed our fingers in front of our eyes when we danced.
Are you starting to see a pattern...
Well, that's my opinion as I... "Deck the Halls" while experiencing "DejaVu" about James Bond having "Happy Feet" at "Casino Royale" listening to "Tenacious D".

Entertainment is evil. Comfort is a sin. Well, ok? Paradoxis unveiled: Hollywood tells stories. They are storytellers. There is NO TRUTH in Hollywood. Why do people look for it there? Morality is laziness.

I don't know if it is really negative, but I certainly think it could be much more positive - but of all the things that are world concerns, Hollywood is pretty minor.
