i called and talked to my sons doctor and he told me i could change his formula from enfamil lipil with iron to enfamil proSobee lipil....he has only been on it a day and i can tell with somethings that its better, like he isnt as gasy and hasnt been spitting up as much....but after i feed him i try to burp him but he doesnt burp are much and also when i lay him down for his nap when he wakes up he vomites...not the whole amount i fed him but i would say close to an ounch in vomit...i was wondering is this because i changed his formula and his body is not used to it or could it be that his body isnt agreeing with this formula?...and if its just that his body isnt used to it yet..how long will it take for it to adjust to the new formula?thank you and happy holidays!!

the reason why i changed formula was because he was spitting up more then what he should plus vomitting more...extremly gasy, runny poo and trapped gas...i thought he was like that because he had a cold but it has passed now and yet he was still acting the same

welcome to motherhood! your baby is throwing up because you need to make sure he is fully burped before you lay him down, also, make sure that you aren't overfeeding him.give it a few days on this new formula, burp him better, and see if it helps, if not, call your doctor. wait till he fully burps, before bedtime, so he dont choke on his vomit.........

There are many reasons why a baby vomits but I am pretty sure this one is just straight forward. Changes in formula can cause all sorts of changes in babies. However the reason your child vomited when he/she woke up is because there was no sufficient burping before you laid the child down. That means the formula IS a better one and that the burps you might get are naturally occurring and not caused by the formula. This also means you will have to work harder to get a good burp from your baby. Try not to lay the child down flat. I found that laying my baby down on a small pillow worked wonders. Make sure legs are on the mattress of the crib and body is full on the pillow with no way to slide off. Placing hands at either side by head. Baby's will naturally turn their head either way. Now this is not a position you leave your child in and ignore - make sure you check often.Good Luck!

Congratulations on the new addition, formula can take up to a week to adjust. Also Prosobee is a thicker formula that has rice ingerdients so it helps for spitting up and gas and also thats why it it harder for him to burp it is thicker, and goes down slower resulting in-less gas and fewer/harder to burp. Reccomended for Acid-Reflux babies. The vomit is probally because the adjust give it about a week it still continues the call the peditrician. Then if symptoms, such as diarreah and vomiting still remain I suggest LactoFree sometimes babies react to the lactose in formula-It worked well on my daughter.

It can take 3 to 4 days for a baby to "get used" a new formula don't give up yet but if you are really concerned call your sons doctor and see what they say.

try gently pushing his legs up, he'll either get the burp out or fart, either way it's released
