Mechanical Televisions

Early version of the modern Television that uses large spinning wheels, lenses, lights, and simple signal transiever. The image size was limited by the size of the wheel and a 29" screen would require a 6 foot wheel. The first of these were black & white with very poor picture quality that lacked detail and requiered heavy makeup to highlight and darken areas of the face in order for people to be partially recognizable. Though the color versions built in the 1950s were an improvement over the early Black & White electronic TVs that appeared in the 1940s, the limits of mechanical TVs technology prevented it from being successfully marketed.

This mechanical television in the 1950's is technically the first color television, I can't remember the rest of the show, but I think the first electronic televisions (i.e. the type we've known) that came out in color appeared in the late 50's/early 60's.
