I'm currently a senior in High School, and I'm graduating in 2007. Although everyone says that " to be succeseful in life you have to go to college", I'm not sure if I will even get into a college. So I have decited to ask. Aside from flipling burgers or working at Walmart, what kind of jobs are avaliable for people who have just graduated high school, but do not attend college? (also including jobs that might need some career training like an nurse for instance)

There are plenty of trades out there that you can start out in as an apprentice and work your way up the ladder. Unfortunately, to be a nurse, you also need schooling. I have a friend who's going to school for two years to become a certified nursing assistant. The best way to get a job somewhere if you don't have a degree is to know someone who's already working there, since a lot of people are afraid to hire a perfect stranger with no diploma saying they've actually studied and know something about the job they're going to be doing. Virtually all jobs besides Wal-Mart type jobs will require at least a little training (maybe a couple weeks, maybe a couple years). Just remember that you can always go back and get a college degree. It's not like this is your only chance to go to college. However, most people find it very hard to go back to college after they've started a career or maybe started a family, so consider your alternatives carefully.

A friend of mine droped out of college after 1 semester and flipped burgers for a few weeks, until he realized he was totally screwed unless he got some real job training. He ended up going to EMT school (Emergency Medical Technician) which is sort of the entry-level step to becoming a paramedic - he got to ride ambulances, got dispatched to emergency scenes, administered CPR, and sped people to the hospital.
That may sound neat, but really, you're better off doing everything in your power to go to college. Not everyone can get a full-ride scholarship to Harvard, but even a small communty college is better than nothing. At some point you'll want to get married, start a family, buy a house, start your own business, or something - anything - that you won't be able to afford if you don't go to college, and it could very well make you regret not making the right decision now.
It's obvious you're not an idiot - your sentence structure is good, and you know how to express your thoughts coherently. (And you obviously have at least a basic understanding of computers, or you wouldn't be here.) There's no good reason you can't get into some college in your area. Just talk to your school's guidance dept. or academic advisors or even just some intelligent adults that you feel comfortable talking to, and ask them what schools they think you could get into, and then apply to every school you can. You'll feel great when the acceptance letter(s) arrive and down the road, when the REALLY big life hurdles start to show up, you'll look back and be very glad you made the right decision.

safeway, office work, paralegal, you could start your own business. You know, you could go to a junior college, they don't care about grades and you don't even have to graduate from high school. Then you could transfer to a 4 year college.
