You may want to check if you are really getting a valid IP on your wireless connection to ensure that you are indeed connected to your router. Click Start> Control Panel > Network Connections. Do a right-click on Wireless Network Connection > Status > Support. This will show you your IP Address and Default Gateway. Normally, IP Address and Default Gateway starts with 192 or 172. A 169 IP Address indicates NO CONNECTION at all.

If you are getting a valid IP Address, you may want to disable your computer's firewall or antivirus temporarily. If disabling these security application works, it would be best to contact your OEM's tech support to adjust the settings on the firewall or antivirus.

I have read the threads on techguy.org. because your pings to internet ip address are successful but your pings to URLs are not. You seems to be having a DNS issue. Have you tried restarting your computer? I would suggest a synchronized restart as a place to start troubleshooting. shut down your internet equipment and starting from the wall, turn everything back on one piece of equipment at time, Waiting approx 1 minute between each piece of equipment. Next try flushing your dns resolver cache by putting the command ipconfig /flushdns at the command prompt. It might also be helpful to clear your browser cache.
