can i upgrade or change anything to meet the 32bit true color display?

Need to know make/model/specs of current unit. Some laptops have a video card that can be upgraded. I feel it is worth mentioning, the costs associated with upgrading the video card in a laptop, especially one that is functioning properly, albeit less than HD quality, is most likely not money well spent.
If it merely a software issue, or a hardware/bios setting then resolving the issue merits more information.

No, everyting on a laptop is onboard and is not possible to upgrade, time for a new laptop.

I would say upgrade your graphics card and drivers. You may also need more RAM for support.
