It's the time of year in which we should be loving towards eachother, yet, I see Conservatives talking about how Liberals hate babies or Liberals hate our troops or Liberals want the terrorists to win. Or Liberals who claim Conservatives are fascist or neo-cons or idiots or some such thing.
So those of you who are so hateful towards the other side... when will you realise that they're Americans too? You all claim to love America but seem to hate other Americans. Wasn't America made to be 2 parties? Therefore if you want anyone who isn't on your party to go away aren't you Anti-American?
I guess I just don't understand the hate here on the Y! Answers Political board.
So anyway the question I'm asking is do you feel like you can love America but hate anyone who isn't in your party or part of your thought process? Would you be able to... just for this month be loving towards the other side?
What ya'll say?

I don't care about other countries in this question. I just want to hear about if you think that we could really come together just for this month. Americans are the ones on here calling eachother names and generalizing more than people from other countries. So that's who I want to hear about!

I'll say this again:
I just want to hear if you'd be willing to stand on the same side for once and take notice of how we're all Americans.
Like what happened after 9/11. No liberals in this country celebrated that some conservatives died and no conservatives celebrated that liberals died. We were all just sad that AMERICANS died. Is that possible to be like that again?

When I was a young liberal, I used to be rather hateful towards Republicans/ conservatives, I thought that they were evil.
Well, now that I am older and hopefully wiser, I am conservative (an Independent, the Republican party like the Democrat party infuriates me). Now I don't hate liberals/ leftists just because I disagree with them, I just think that they are misguided, like I was when I was young and uninformed. Liberalism is felt and emoted rather than being being well thought out; I've been there, and I lived it and have seen it.
I believe it was Winston Churchill that said (something like) "If you are not liberal when you are young that you have no heart, if you are not conservative when you reach 40, you have no brain".

I love this country more then anything. I make fun of liberals only because they rag on Bush so much, and every liberal sounds the exact same when they do such.
But yes, I agree with you. I don't have anything against liberals at all, except for the crazies, but of course i have something against both sides that are crazy.

I love America.. and love my fellow Americans.
What I hate is that politicians no longer seem to remember that they are in the positions they are in because we vote for them and they are there to serve us and the country. Not to get rich... not to be popular... but to better America as a whole. To bring its people together. THAT is what I hate. And it's in all parties... not just liberals... not just conservatives... ALL parties.
I hate party politics!
History has shown that all democracies fail and fall... I think America isn't far off if we can't turn the tide.

Here's what I think. I think if you are a conservative who supports such things as Patriot Act and Military Commissions Act 2006 you are unpatriotic and partially responsible for ruining this country.
Also if you are a Liberal who believes in such things as gun control, you are unpatriotic and partially responsible for trying to ruin this country.
Anyone who believes in limiting freedom or exchanging liberty for security deserves to live in North Korea.
None of us are in this country to serve the country, but rather the country is here to serve us.

I love America and Americans. That is why it hurts me so much when I hear about any American being hurt or killed.
Our soldiers are in another land fighting to keep America and Americans safe, by putting themselves in harms way. It really upsets me when our Soldiers get bashed for doing the right thing.
The only time I feel hate is when people say our soldiers are dieing for nothing.

I do agree the value system has gone out the window. This generation is shameless compared to what it once was. In some ways I hope it will change but I know I'm living in a dream world.

I dont hate Dems (Im a Rep). However, I am pro-life. I do get rough in some of those debates because so much is on the line regarding the abortion issue. Justified convience or mass murder? But I do listen to the other side.

I think that if we are divided we are more easily controleed. I love America, but as a Vet who went to war, I hate war, its got to be the last resort, and not for some political adgenda!

I love America and Americans. America is nothing without it's people. I strongly disapprove of many things our government does and I voice my opinion. I write to elected officials and newspapers and I vote. That's what America is all about.
