I used to have that problem. But i realized i could dance so i just started dancing and didn't care what anyone thought. If you know you can dance don't hide it.I always say if someone doesn't like then why are they looking.I always felt more embarrassed when i didn't dance.Because i figured everyone thought i couldn't dance.Just show what you got and don't be ashamed.

I am the same way! I did that all my life until I got married. I guess I was overly concerned what everyone thought and when I got married I didn't care what people thought because the one I loved loved me and that's all that mattered. When I got particularly nervous I would look up at the ceiling of where I was dancing or I would stare into the eyes of my friend whom I was dancing with. Eventually you will lose this nervousness. My cousin would go into a club deadpan, she was so nervous she couldn't even smile but you know more people talked to her than me (the smiling fool).

Social anxiety? Have you ever spoken with a psychologist? There are ways of handling this (e.g., deep breathing, retreating every so often to a corner but then coming back into the crowd, wearing a Day-Glo green T-shirt so that when people stare at you, you'll assume they're staring at the shirt).

Don't go to parties then!
I trained as a ballroom dancer as a kid but hate the thought of anyone watching me dance now, so I just avoid parties where there is dancing!
Its a confidence thing, if you are full of confidence it doesn't matter, if you lack confidence then you are just plain stuffed!

Do something you know is really bad dancing like the robot as a joke. It may trigger a bad dancing chain reaction that will have everyone doing the hussle.

First of all, you are by yourself at home, and at the parties, you are shy to dance around people. Quisk cure for this would be take a sip of some alcohol...then you see some results
