First I would ask the in laws just what the hell they were thinking, explain it to them if they're that dense, and not go. Maybe you could drop off the kids so they wouldn't have their Christmas ruined by these idiots and pick them up once they're gone. Sorry for your predicament, it doesn't do you much good, but the trauma would at least be minimized. Isn't family wonderful?

Why on earth are you spending Christmas Holidays with your ex-in-laws? Especially since Ex Wife will be there! Are you just wanting to be miserable???
You might consider doing the healthy thing--- spend Christmas Holidays with your own family -or- if you have no family I am sure close friends would love to have you with them.
Why would you put yourself through this????
If the in-laws want to see your son, then go on a different weekend or have them come to you to see him.Have the kids you raised over to your house.

Be as loving as you were when you were raising them. Don't you miss them???? After eight years it seems like it would be a big void in your life and your son's life. Rejoice in the opportunity to spend the holidays in a big way with family. There are so many who spend the holidays alone. Step out of your unhappiness and celebrate your good fortune.

And where will hubby be while the circus is in town, out recruiting new acts. Don't go, it sounds like someone on the in-laws side is looking forward to a great show that they were planning on.

OH MY GOD!!! christmas from hell!!!!!!!! Baby Jesus would not want you to do this to yourself!!!! why on earth did they invite you and the other ex??? wanting to see the kids is one thing, and the father should def have a time over the christmas holiday to spend with his kids, but why do you have to go?
okay okay.... i am actually going to try to help you now.... i think that if you are spending the weekend, and she is coming for a little visit, then you just grin (literally) and bear it. its gonna suck, and be hard, but you can do it. if that is your choice to go there, and you don't forsee it being miserable other than when she is there, then i am sure you can get through.
