Hi,
Bulfinch's Mythology
Who's Who In Classical Mythology
Daulaire's Book of Greek Myths (simpler read)
The Odyssey (features Hephaestus)
The following is a terrific website telling all about him:
http://www.theoi.com/Olympios/Hephaistos.html
Best of luck!

Alucard from Hellsing or Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach - Ares/Mars (psycho blood knights) Mitsuko from conflict Royale - Aphrodite?/Venus (manipulative, shallow, replies on lust) Yuri from purple River/Anatolia tale - Minerva/Athena (strategic/shielding ingredient of conflict) Kuri from Double Arts - Apollo (youthful, has medicinal powers, can dance...) Reno from pass Beat - Hephaestus/Vulcan (bodily susceptible, won't be able to get screwy love dodecahedron to artwork in his favour)

If you haven't already, you could check out Bulfinch's Mythology or Edith Hamilton's Mythology. Both have very good selections covering Hephaestus and each also lists its sources from which their information was attained.

"Hephaistos [Hephaestus], the celestial artist, was the son of Hera. He was born lame, and his mother was so displeased at the sight of him that she flung him out of Olympus. Other accounts say that Zeus kicked him out for taking part with his mother in a quarrel which occurred between them. Hephaistos's lameness, according to this account, was the consequence of his fall. He was a whole day falling, and at last alighted in the island of Lemnos, which was thenceforth sacred to him."
