It's a joke amongst your friends that the new teacher in school is a vampire. You think it's a great story idea and write not a short story, but a novel. You've written it mostly because you think she's an interesting character, and you don't hate her like you tell your friends you do. Your friends think you're the main character and one's trying to persuade you to publish it. You have no clue what will happen if your teacher finds it and your friends are always trying to read it.
Advice?

Most authors base characters on facets of people they know, so go for it.

It might be sensible to change some of the names and facts about the characters, including the on based on your teacher, so the similarities aren't so obvious.

If it's a good story, these changes shouldn't damage it.

Wait till a publisher has agreed to take it on and publish it. By the time it has been accepted and in print the chances are that you will be out of school and there won't be a problem.
However I would keep the manuscript at home if I were you. it would make your life easier.
By the way, some teachers have a sense of humour you know. If I found it and read it, I would tell you how to improve on it and give you advice as to how you could get it published.

If you don't want your friends reading it, you shouldn't take it to school w/ you. You should hide it somewhere in your house where no one would ever find it. Depending on your teacher's personality, she might actually like the idea, who knows? So, on the other hand, you could try publishing it. You have no idea what good things could happen. hope I helped=)

If you think it'll sell, by all means publish it. JK Rowling is a billionaire. A BILLIONAIRE. let that sink in now. I think Harry Potter is silly as much as the next fellow, but JK Rowling has 1 billion dollars and I do not, so truly, who's really the silly one?

Well then, um....just don't let your teachers or your friends find it. Just keep it private and then publish it
