Make them some mixed music CDs. Its a good present when you're skint and it shows you went to some effort. They will also always have the music and remember that you made them those CD's

Lack of funds shouldn't make for a not so merry holiday. Make coupons for special services ie: babysitting, doing someones chores, or for a massage. You can print up personalized stationary. If your artistic anything created personally by you is worth more than any storebought gift. You could make a "Good times with my Friends" photo album with humorous bubble comments and captions Bake up some banana bread, cookies or make your own winter flavored coffee mix put in a cheery coffee cup. A "pamper yourself" basket with dollar store items is a great gift with scented soaps, bubble bath, oils, salts and candles (my guy friends even get these and have secretly enjoyed them) is a thoughtful way to encourage a loved one to relax during the hectic holiday. A personalized cd is always nice too. Tis the season to be jolly!

I'm planning on making all the "new" women in my family cookbooks of family favorites. You can add personal notes to the recipe's before printing. I don't have a format for it, I'm just going to type the recipes on a single page and then decide how I want to arrange them and print two pages on one. Hope that helps.
