It depends on what you mean by "brainwash". You can't make someone believe something they don't want to believe.

It is possible to indoctrinate a person to think in a certain way.

Usually the most effective way, is they start when the person is really young. They teach them only what they want them to know.

There are constant reinforcements. Great rewards for believing what is taught, and very hard punishments for not accepting the teachings.

Add to that very little exposure to any other way of thinking, or very much of the outside world, and there you go. Preprogramming.

It can be undone, but it takes alot of work, when it is not possible to get a trained professional, which is the best solution, to undue the programming safely.

And no more exposure to this person, or this group of people.

Brainwashing is obviously wrong, for whatever reasons.. There is no reason good enough.

This person or persons, group, is harmful. And to be avoided at all costs. Hanging with them is not worth the price.

Everyone has the right to explore the world and use their own mind. That's why we are here. We have already been given that right, and it is far to precious to let anybody take it away from us.

Yes very probable and possible and it has been done for thousands of years. Beliefs are an easy thing when people wish to believe in a supreme being to tell all their troubles and believe that they will be saved. Religion perfect example of belief. However brainwashing starts usually in early stages of life, as children you are instilled with knowledge from the parenting that has been training you mind to commit to obediance. Superstitions, for instance, like salt over the shoulder the number 13 removed from elevators and trains. simple brainwashing techniques that did not take much. But to really brainwash a mature person, deprevation of light, food, creates weakness and depression, making the party vulnerable to the voice of another or many to instill a thought and force a behavioral pattern upon them. Torture is another way as well. Certainly none of these things should ever be done but they have been to many.

Hi,
Yes it is definitely possible. If you tell the same thing to a person over and over again, eventually they will start believing it. It is part of us wanting to be part of the group, it's an old mechanism in us. Some people are easier to manipulate then others. It depends largely on who you are as a person and how comfortable you are with where you sit, what your opinions are.

I hope that answered your question.
Take care

People can be taken advantage of or manipulated while they are in a weakened state, yes. Deprive them of brain food and convince them on a regular basis what it is you want them to think, and know that as a man thinks, so is he. (I think, therefore I am)

Don't try that at home, folks! lol

We need to stay prepared against such attacks as this. Eat healthy, drink plenty of water and remind yourself continuously,

"You are the head and not the tail, you are above only and not beneath!" and don't you forget it!

Yes it is. I belonged to a certain 12 step group that I don't want to divulge the name of, but when joining they convince people that they're the dregs of society, then they retrain them into their way of thinking.

Yes. JUst think of all the religious cults, POWs, etc., etc. They all have to be deprogrammed when they get free of the people who brainwashed them.
