......with the idea that the traits we may dislike in other people are actually just a reflection of the same traits we hold ourselves? For example: disliking a co-worker because he/she is such a 'gossip'....but then realizing how much you gossip yourself.

could be, i think we also may not like some traits that we have in common with other people but dont not like in ourselves because we dont want to view ourselves as being in the wrong
