Is Captain Jack Harkness gay?
I know John Barrowman is but what about the character he plays?
In the very first episode there was some chemistry between him and Gwen, he also had a relationship with Estelle who was killed by the fairies but in this week's episode he mentioned an old boyfriend.
I'm confused, can anyone help me out?

I LOVE Torchwood.
I think Jack is Pansexual. He is at least bi.
He goes for anybody or anything.
Meaning he would date an alien too if it was hot.

I have seen the actor on morning shows that someone put on youtube. John Barrowman said that Captain Jack will shag anything with a zip code. I would say that he is open to anything. So I guess he is Bi but this includes aliens too I guess. I love Torchwood!

I think the character is bisexual, Just look at the way he acted towards the Doctor and Rose in the Dr Who episode The Empty Child ("Are you my mommy").

He's bi. In the Doctor Who episode he says that, although romancing Rose, the Doctor maybe more his cup of tea. He's originally from the 51st century, and actording to the doctor that was common then.

I'd say he probably is gay because some of the Torchwood staff say he is and I believe he may be gay but one thing for sure, it doesn't effect his popularity!

Torchwood is fab.
Captain Jack is "sexually ambiguous" which means he'll flirt with everything. Probably Bi sexual, but he probably done it with aliens too. I think he probably is an alien anyway, like Dr who is.

I think what was established when he was in Dr Who was that he plays for (and with) both teams.
