When my daughter was around 4yrs old, her bedroom was a mess and we kept asking her to put away her toys, but she never did.
Where we lived at the time, Santa used to come round on his sleigh and collect for charity, we asked on of the helpers if he could ask santa to tell Emma to tidy her room or she wouldn't get any gifts. I tell you, I have never seen her move so fast in her life.......but unfortunately, my daughter isn't with us anymore, she was killed last year aged 19. and you know what, I would give everything I had just to see her again.

My kids are too young but I tell my 6 yr old niece that all the time and it works. Although my niece is too smart I dont think she believes in Santa or she's just confused about it. LOL

Definitely on a daily basis!!!!!!!!
The only thing is. It doesnt work very well with my 2 1/2 year old. I tell him, do you want Santa to take back all your toys ..Of course he tells me YES!!!!!
But, It still feels good to use those threatening words LOL!!!
I think the closer it gets the more I can get him to understand ..and it will become a threat!

I never did because I remember how horrible it made me feel as a kid. They have so few years to believe in the magic. Of course I still believe in Santa.

Never did it. I value my relationship with my child. The idea of a fat guy coming down the chimney to give presents if you've been good or bad is sickening. We have a great time during the holidays, exchange presents and give to charities and we never lied about where the presents come from.
