It seems that just about all the most popular rap songs to come out consist of a repetitive series of notes or just sound effects. To me its like listening to a broken record.

I like rap because it has good flow and sometimes has a message like jay z's 99 problems

but you have to think, what is the point of the music. the whole idea is to have some good beats, and something to move your body too. and if repetitive series of notes and sound effects do that for the listener, then isn't it serving its purpose?

Listen to the lyrics, if you cant understand them get them on paper, is it me or are all the rock bands just screaming and screeching their guitars and its like listening to a broken record?

No, it's not just you. Rap is garbage and shows a lack of creativity and talent. You just have to know how to make random sounds on a synth and talk about "slapping your *****" or killing cops. It's a waste of time.
