My experience indicates it is the people with close interpersonal ties. New parents go through all sorts of weird things when they realise their new baby is absolutely dependent on them and they often improve their lifestyles, set up their wills and have discussions with their partners about what would happen if they 'were gone'.

Older people realise they are closer to death, but many seem to have come to some sort of acceptance and so are not anxious about the inevitable.

I can't say I've noticed too big a difference between men and women, other than men talking less about it.

The only thing I am aware in this subject is that people who are certain in life after death and people who are certain there is nothing after death are generally not going to feel much anxiety. Agnostics or people with some level of doubt suffer the most anxiety. Makes sense I guess.

This was in comparing people with terminal illness who had some idea their death was coming very soon.

My guess would be that A-B-C-D would all be about the same.

I'm guessing elders, because they're closer to death. People with interpersonal ties next, then women, then men.
