I don't know if there are LEGAL laws or just moral ones. I do know the govt has enough to worry about..the last thing they care about is the few hundred citizens a year that choose to try to kill themselves..as far as they are concerned..that's just one less citizen to have to take care of or deal with

The laws regarding suicide in the United States are mainly against it and are there for the protection of the citizens of the United States and those persons visiting and residing in the United States. I recommend you seek professional help immidiately!

If you attempt suicide but don't succeed, you have two options- either you check yourself into a mental hospital voluntarily or the state sends you to the state mental hospital

it is illegal but punishment varies state to state.

mostly it is a fine and time served for an attempt
if you commit it well your dead so there won't be much they could do.
