Bill Mazeroski; ugh! I'll never forget it! I grew up near Yankee Stadium and am a big fan. I was just 7 1/2 years old, but I still remember it. The Yanks dominated that series, outscoring Pittsburgh 55 to 27, but still lost the series.

Mazeroski......I too remember it as one of my biggest disappointments....only time that I remember crying over a ball game.....by the way.....Yogi was playing left field because Elston Howard was catching....he and Yogi alternated.....both too good a batter to keep out of the lineup.....also before the designated hitter rule was in......for information.....Elston Howard was the first "black" Yankee player.......it probably should have been Vic Power but he was too "flamboyant" for the conservative Yankee owners back then......Vic Power wasted 8 years in the minors because of this "flamboyance".....would have had a hall of fame career if not for that.........all not rel event to the question but we lost when the "Maz" knocked that homer!!!!
