The Jitterbug is a easy cell phone directed more towards the elderly. You can get the 3 button version with emergency, home, and a programmable button. There is also model where you Can program numbers in and the buttons are also larger so they can see them better. Hope this helps.

If all you want is for him to call family or emergency numbers and for you to reach him, I suggest the firefly for kids. It has a few buttons that are programed for family and emergency and you could call him.
