Yes, 4 years ago Laura killed Rick in self defense as he was about to drug her. It has recently been revealed that Laura may in fact be innocent and someone else killed Rick. This story is beginning as Lulu will go in search of the truth for her mother.
Sarah moved away in 2002 and returned to Europe to be with her parents.
As far as the fights go, it is hard to say because no one knows for sure how the writers are going to play out anything. I personally think, once Jason finds out that Liz's baby is his, Jason will look at Liz differently and Sam could possibly end up on the outs. She'll end up sleeping with someone else like she did with Ric. Liz will win too as far as Maxie and her go, because Lucky clearly doesn't want Maxie anymore and when he finds out she faked her pregnancy, he'll want her even less. Lulu will end up winning out of her and Georgie, mainly because Dillon still cares about her and Georgie will give up on them as she had before, leaving Dillon to be with Lulu.
