Apparently, I am extremely feminine. So, why do you think there are less women who are in tune with their feminine side? What makes a woman feminine?

The unfeminine qualities of women today are the consequence of being liberated. It goes with the territory.
They have detached themselves from the traditional ways of rearing young girls.
They instill the notion that a girl is absolutely no different than a boy.
Laughable as it may be, Nonetheless, it has become the mainstay of the liberation movement.

Feminism is learned. To act a certain way that is deemed acceptable and becoming a girl/woman is taught early on in the Child’s life by the parents. However, that type of child rearing is history for the most part.
A cessation of this parental behavior is impossible at the moment and must run it’s course ; and it will.
The proof ? Many women like yourself do not like what the female has become. Hence, they ask the same question you just asked.
There is nothing wrong with being a traditional woman with all the feminine qualities.

I don't think women are less feminine or less in tune with their feminine side. In the past the things which were considered feminine were the things that oppressed them and really were the men's ideal of what a woman should be like- meek, passive, submissive, caring, soft, etc. It was learned. And now that women are more liberated (Although my no means equal to men) they don't have to be like that. They can be anyway they want to and there is nothing wrong with that. I also think it depends on what your idea of feminity is. I think a woman can be strong and independent, and beautiful and other things that supposedly make her feminine. Feminine is a subjective term, and can be different and have different meanings to different people.

Because we are living a world basically made up of rules that men have put in place, women have to find ways to achieve in a man's world. This is especially true in the corporate world where you'll find women being valued for the more masculine traits. Competition, aggressiveness, the "killer instinct". In the best of all worlds, a women would be valued for the things that she can bring to the table. Consensus, accessibility, information sharing..... because this is less valued, women get paid less than men.
this has pushed many women into the higher paying but more difficult jobs usually held by men.
Even women that are not in the corporate world are not valued for holding together house and home. for instance, if they break a leg, there is no disability insurance to help them out. Because our society has undervalued the mother and homemaker, it has forced women out of the home. They are trying to make it in a man's world, and it's getting harder every day. Remember, women are the producers of the human race. We are all "born of woman"

I shall ask this in return first. "WHAT MAKES A MAN MASCULINE"?? Frankly this is a RIDICULOUS & SILLY question. Males are described as MASCULINE & FEMALES , FEMININE. So how do you answer a silly question,,,,,,,,here it is anyway???

Why women are not feminine any more is because they dress like the males counterpart nowadays. Designers are not helping either by designing clothes that are horible male in style , with neck tie, jeans & ruggered look, rubber sneakers, "T's" that have advertising slogans or statement prints for males should be a "NO".

They wear short crop in hair styles & walk & behave like males. They drink bottle beers straight up & not pour & drink from a glass. Women sit with legs wide apart too from a young kid & parents did not correct them. They play games as rough as males.

Now to look FEMININE & HOW TO?? Dress neat & clean & smell good, walk tall & smartly & with confidence. Wear hair styles that are neat & carfree & tie it to a neat style if too long & scraggly looking. Wear parfums when u have showered & cleaned up is the first proper hygine all should know about & brush your teeth few times a day & rince mouth after a meal.

dress smartly & do not have too many colours that will be "SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER". Wear & match plain clothes with either the top or bottom (skirt, pant) with print but not top & bottom different prints.

When dining out, try to sit upright & eat well with both fork & knife or spoon & not just fork alone (it is ridiculous & ugly & portray u have one arm/hand only). Do not talk loud in public & walk & sit with grace.

From the wikipedia wiktionary (excerpt)
Having the qualities of a woman; becoming or appropriate to the female sex; as, in a good sense, modest, graceful, affectionate, confiding;

In other words, acting like a lady and allowing a man to act like a gentleman (a.k.a. masculine). Accepting the fact that men and women are no more equal than dogs and cats, and that each have their own biological strengths and weaknesses.

The only reason I can see that more women aren’t feminine is that they don’t want to be treated with love, tenderness, kindness and respect, and would rather have a man treat her like one of the guys. I would imagine they are also the ones that get angry and blame the man when a sexy, feminine woman comes along that is willing to treat a man like a man instead of a threat, and easily takes him from her.

In case anyone missed it, yes, I did say a feminine woman is sexy. Deal with it.

There are many reasons for this...but for some it is because they want to compete with men on try to be on their level. For some, they are conditioned to be that way do to the environment they are in. Yet for others, it is trendy.

Me, I am neither too feminine nor too masculine. I am just a woman sure of myself.

My sister thinks that ever since women were allowed to work and not be a traditional "cooking and cleaning" woman that's when we turned less feminine.I honestly don't know.I'm an equal balance I guess-I mean I like putting on lip gloss and shopping and wearing skirts but on the other hand I like to hang out with guys and play sports and I wear jeans more than anything else.I just don't know.

"Feminine" is a word used when discussing the social institution of gender, and what makes something "feminine" depends on the society you're looking at.

Assuming you're talking about Western society, some things that are considered "feminine" are being quiet, sweet, passive, helpful, caring, etc.

There aren't less women "in tune with their feminine side" now. More women are just not conforming with traditional societal standards in Western culture, and are more comfortable acting to please themselves as opposed to only pleasing others.

Todays women are confused with what the media portrays women to be. They're supposed to be aggressive, independent, carefree and competitive. The media tells women they're one thing then they portray them as something else. Standards for women have been lost and most important, there are not enough WOMEN around to look up to, to be like and you wouldn't hear about them if they were, the media only promotes what sells...
As far as what makes a woman feminine: That tender touch, That Look, That walk, that willing
Sacrifice, Caring...... But I often tell young women, Think Like a Man, Act like a Lady!!!!
