AIM and MSN Messenger are both available for Mac OS, but you may not need either one. iChat, which is included with all Macs, already talks to AIM, and you might want to get Fire ( http://fire.sf.net ), which is a multi-protocol IM client (it does AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, Jabber/Google Talk, and IRC).
Congratulations on switching to Mac OS! Take a look at http://www.apple.com/support/switch101 , and feel free to e-mail me at marnen AT marnen DOT org if you have any questions.

Yes, both MSN and AIM have Macintosh versions, however, Apple also has its own program called iChat (which comes with every Mac) which is compatible with AIM. Take a look at it here:

of course ... they both have great versions!
but there is one problem! MAC ENVY... you will be able to do multi person video chat, and the pc kids won't!
iChat does aim among others!

you have them start up as login products. pass to equipment possibilities > bills > Login products click on the + to function them. To launch them at start up, you will could logout of your account and placed your Mac to sleep. of course all this might artwork provided that MSN and purpose have vehicle start up on login.
