I don't like diamonds and other jewelry. Sure they look very pretty, but it's such a waste. There are so many better things to do with money. People are suffering and dying out there, so I'm not going to blow so much money on a useless thing like that if I can spend it on helping others instead.

Thanks for showing people the real cost of diamonds. I think it can do some good to show people that diamonds don't just grow on trees in the back of the jewelry shop. People suffer and die for the jewelry industry so that people on the other side of the planet can wear something shiny. I hope this gets at least a few people to reconsider their love for the bling bling.

It's very difficult to know exactly where the diamond came from when you get it at the jewelers store. I love diamonds and how they look, but more than anything else it is a symbol created by culture and society and most of all because they are rare. I understand in many African countries people suffer slave like existences due to the diamond fever, but in other places it is not like that. How could one avoid those blood diamonds to get into commerce? DeBeers and other major traders should back off those stones and prefer trading with democratic countries.

Well I don't think most Americans think about it in this way....they just want to show off so I don't think they really think sbout how people are getting these diamonds and the amount of money they are getting paid just to get these diamonds. But I personally don't think about diamonds in this perspective...however I still like diamonds and I thank those who had to work hard to get them out of the earth for only two dollars.

No, Well if my husband died and then I used the insurance money to buy diamonds. Then maybe.

Most people don't see it that way. I like bling on my hand because my husband bought it for me (my wedding rings).

it would be sad, but it in no way affects the beauty of the stone, by the way, that is a movie. I cannot control the actions of men.
