Good compared to what? Compared to my idiot brother-in-law, he's not so bad. Compared to most humans, he is a disgrace. Compared to most pet dogs, he's more or less house broken, but barks to much at the wrong noises.

Well, as you can see, how you feel about that depends on what your political viewpoints. Obviously, conservatives tend to like him, liberals tend to dislike him. Based on the recent polls, the moderates don't care much for him either.
Several current historians have claimed that he will likely go down in history as the worst president ever or pretty darn close. Black marks against him include involving the US in an unnecessary war with no end, a disturbingly high deficit, too close ties to business and a refusal to rein in potentially harmful actions by business, an education policy that has not been fully funded, an environmental policy that has done very little to improve and has hindered the health of the planet, promoting torture, perhaps ignoring signs of the attack of 9/11/01, and promoting a culture of division amongst the people.
Those who disagree with this assessment point to his willingness to take strong military backed stands against Afghanistan and Iraq in an attempt to create democratic republics there, a pro-business environment which has led to some economic growth, and pushing for a return to more conservative traditional values, and putting in place judges who would do just that.
All in all, I'd agree with the historians. He's pretty lousy.

You have to be kidding....He's the biggest idiot you've had in office.
For example
He's the one that said:
We don't believe in planners and deciders making the decisions on behalf of Americans.
--George w. Bush
Scranton, PA
09/06/2000
I'm the decider, and I decide what is best. And what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the secretary of defense.
--George w. Bush
Washington, DC

He's definitely one of the worst presidents we've ever had, and down the road history will agree. Besides the poor public speaking skills and stubborn judgment (i.e. keeping Rumsfeld for as long as he did despite the public's disapproval of his job), he has done nothing but made the United States suck more from a political point of view. Do not get me wrong, I was completely behind invading Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks. It's the war in Iraq that makes me hate what he's done. We had no reason to be there regardless of what any of you think. There are so many more tyrants we could have attacked, but instead we targeted the man who his father could not remove from power fifteen years ago.
Bush may be decisive, but his inability to break from his decisiveness and CHANGE the course is his greatest weakness.

Have you been awake since Clinton left office? George W. is the biggest screw up of all time. He has single-handedly brought the United States to a status of complete and total international disfavor and dishonor. He has alientated and divided this country even more than was ever imagined possible. He has failed to address domestic issues in a unifying and constructive manner and he has put us into such overwhelming debt that it will require draconian measures to even make a dent.

Compared to most of the iron-armed corrupted tyrannical leaders YES he is hanging in there, could be doing better & could be doing worse. He's up against some doozies but his problem is he's coming on as an Imperialist because of our need for oil. All Presidents ,manditory, should have to have ideas approved by X-TRA special comm. they have too much responsibility.
