An inferno match is when the four sides of the ring are surrounded , creating a "wall". (This is controlled by the pyro techs). The object is the first man to catch fire is the loser. You can win by pushing your opponent into the flames. The wrestlers wear special padding to protect themselves when they get "set on fire". The first one was between WWE wrestlers Undertaker and Kane.
They're very rare because of logistics and saftey concerns. They do these matches on live tv in front of a live crowd. Plus the heat and oxygen delpetion is risky for both the wrestlers and fans the first few rows.

The Inferno match is a type of professional wrestling match, occasionally seen in World Wrestling Entertainment. There have been only three instances of this kind of match since its introduction in 1998. The objective of the match is to set the opponent on fire in any way. To accomplish this, the ring is surrounded by fire, carefully controlled by pyrotechnicians. The match type is closely related to the in-ring gimmick of Kane. Oddly, announcers still refer to it as his specialty match, despite the fact that he's never been victorious in one.
Wrestlers protect themselves from harm by wearing special fire-retardant padding under their costumes. Inferno matches are very rare today because of health concerns and because of state sports commissions expressing concern over safety. Undertaker once said in an interview that it was impossible to breathe properly in the ring when the flames were on as they burned most of the oxygen up. WWE.com calls the Inferno match "possibly the sickest of all WWE matches".

An Inferno Match is a No Disqualification, No Countout, No Pinfall, No Submission Match.
There is fire holes in the apron of the ring, and the aim of the match is to catch your opponent on fire!
There's been 3 previous Inferno Matches, Kane has been involved in all of them, and lost all of them!
In previous matches Undertaker has dived over the ropes amazingly and landed on Kane outside the ring!
