Hello Everyone,

Does any one know how I can make my PC mic hear me from 10 feet away? or do youknwo of a a good brand taht will do this automaticlly?

I currently have an HDTV with a computer hooked up to it and I want to by a program for voice recognition (probabbly dragon 9). I sit about 10 feet away from where the mic is. how can i set this up to hear my voice clearly and not yelling across te room (prefrably a very low talking voice...don't want to wake the rest of the house when they sleeping)?

Thanks

You got a couple of options:

1) Buy an extension cord and bring the microphone close to you.
2) Get a wireless microphone via RF or bluetooth. (ideal solution)

The sensitivity of the microphone and program are not sufficient to pick up your voice 10 feet away and properly process it. I have used Dragon Naturally Speaking. Unless the microphone is right in front of you, there is no way you can get the accuracy that you need.

i do believe u could construct a super sensitive mic by wiring it through a pre-amp or booster device , takling this method further u could add mics wired together positioned for instance in each corner of your room. that courd pick up your voice from anywhere in the room. i do know that a detailed knowledge of electronics is neeeded to balance the resistence output ...wind direction etc etc. so i have to agree with the others .im interested why u require this distance frrom the mic.

you would need a very very high end microphone such as the ones movie producers use on boom sticks
even then, it has to be within 2 feet.
what i would suggest is a head set
from something like Sony or Logitech.
wireless is good, many use Bluetooth now.
