I think that the Iraqi people feel that they have been 'liberated' enough.

The Iraq war was a great success. We destroyed the Iraqi army 3 years ago.
The occupation of Iraq is a great disaster.

Oh would that I could say--freely--exactly how I feel. It is a tragedy & an atrocity. Starting with the TRUE motivations for attacking that country, (not the hither & yon excuses/fairy tales), to the fatuous "reasons" we're still over there. It doesn't matter of what politcal persausion one is; there's also a deeply psychological "reason" for this to have gone on so long, with no strategy, no goal. I've seen the first signs of John Wayne's pot simmering (instead of boiling) yet, Iraq is (to him) his only legacy. No "graceful exit?" Hello? BOTH republicans & democrats oppose continuing this useless, wasted "battle." Last I saw, 71% of Americans oppose this war & its total lack of direction. I'm very glad there's now a better "balance of power" which is ALWAYS best. As well as some very intelligent people of integrity who are now sincerely looking for answers. It will take a great deal to get us out of this hornet's nest, but I believe we've at least got a start. Now I'll see how many thumbs down that I got, even though NO ONE knows if I'm a "Liberal" (nasty lable) or a "Right Winger" (also nasty label).

I can tell you we should not leave and we should reinforce troops there. Increase the amount of training for the Iraqi soldiers and wait till everything stabilizes.
The Iraq Study Group gives the worst possible ideas for a situation like that which is why none of them have a high political seat in our government. People think if we leave Iraq that the problem is solved. If we leave, things get twice as bad.

Where the Begin! The Iraq war is self centered. Bush is killing accident soldiers and Iraqi residences. Why did this happen? Iraq and Osama Bin Ladin are nowhere connected. Bush is trying to get back at them for September 11, but he has the wrong country!

I truly feel so sad for our service heroes who lost their lives. Even as we speak of how to withdraw, I can imagine the families asking 'what did they die for in Iraq'? I would answer that it was due to a misguided Executive Branch, who, may have at the end of the day wished to promote democracy in that cesspool called the Middle East, they must admit now that any kind of democracy there would be just quasi-fare. The most bitter pill for the families to swallow is the democracy experiment was sure to be more of a success in Afghanistan anyway. We all know the Afghans were happy to see the Taliban gone, all we had to do was weed out the drug lords in the poppy fields.(OK maybe that's not all we had to do but c'mon, let's be frank) So I'll be circuitous and ask again...what did they die for?

No one wants a war to happen but I believe strongly that every person in the world deserves freedom. Saddam Hussein is an awful dictator who never showed anyone any mercy and it is a good thing that he is out of power. How could we have known that the sun'is and shi'ites would entrench themselves in such hatred for one another? It is not going well but I believe that we should stay the course.

I think...I have no opinion on it. Seriously.
The only people who REALLY know what's going on in Iraq are those who have been there, or are there now.
Everyone else gets their information on the war from the news media. You know where the news media gets their news? From generals in DC. Sorry, not reliable.

War of aggression for no reason. War started by a state Mad Albright was once Secretary of, against a state headed by Saddam Hussein (who, unlike Mad Albright, is known to have gratitude to people who helped him during his childhood).
