Neurosis " is a "catch all" term that refers to any mental imbalance that causes distress". However, "does not prevent rational thought or an individual's ability to function in daily life". Neurotic tendencies are common and may manifest themselves as depression, acute or chronic anxiety, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, phobias, and even personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder or obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. It has perhaps been most simply defined as a "poor ability to adapt to one's environment, an inability to change one's life patterns, and the inability to develop a richer, more complex, more satisfying personality."

The term connotes an actual disorder or disease, but under its general definition, neurosis is a normal human experience, part of the human condition. Most people are affected by neurosis in some form. A psychological problem develops when neuroses begin to interfere with, but not significantly impair, normal functioning, and thus cause the individual anxiety. It has even been defined in terms of this coping strategy, as a "symbolic behavior in defense against excessive psychobiologic pain [which] is self-perpetuating because symbolic satisfactions cannot fulfill real needs."

According to Dr. George Boeree, effects of neurosis can involve:

...anxiety, sadness or depression, anger, irritability, mental confusion, low sense of self-worth, etc., behavioral symptoms such as phobic avoidance, vigilance, impulsive and compulsive acts, lethargy, etc., cognitive problems such as unpleasant or disturbing thoughts, repetition of thoughts and obsession, habitual fantasizing, negativity and cynicism, etc. Interpersonally, neurosis involves dependency, aggressiveness, perfectionism, schizoid isolation, socio-culturally inappropriate behaviors, etc.

I wholly accept as true with you there -- besides on one depend. I do not suppose that we've got eroticized breasts. Rather, they're lovely to guys on an evolutionary viewpoint. Think of it this fashion: breasts are supposed to feed the younger. Therefore, whilst a person sees a lady's breasts, there's a primal realization that the girl can feed his younger, thereby propogating the species (or extra peculiarly, his genetic line). So of direction breasts are lovely, they serve an evolutionary motive! But it's most likely ridiculous for men and women to freak out approximately breastfeeding in public. For one, you can not see whatever whilst the youngster is latched on, and although you might, so much females are modest ample to drape a blanket over their shoulder. Why will have to an child endure starvation given that any individual does not wish to observe you feed your youngster? Personally, I haven't any predicament breastfeeding in public, and if any individual does not wish to look it, they may be able to move someplace else. It does not hassle ME to observe any individual else devour THEIR lunch!
