live ones or fake ones?

I think that having fish in an aquarium makes the atmosphere a lot nicer. However, depending on the type of fish you put in your aquarium, it may become dirty. Goldfish are especially messy fish, but there are plenty of smaller, cleaner fish, that you can put in your aquarium. Depending on the size of your aquarium you should clean it either weekly (for smaller tanks) or monthly (for larger ones) so that the environment is healthy for the fish and looks nicer. If you do not want to deal with cleaning the tank very often, then snails can help you out, they love eating the algae that grows in aquariums.
If this question is about plants, then I think live plants are better, as long as you can keep them alive. If the plants do not die, then they can oxygenate the water, which keeps it cleaner. However, if the plants die then it creates an an environment where algae can bloom, which is toxic for fish and does not look too pretty.
Hope this helps!

Live or fake what? I assume you are talking about plants? I like live plants but be prepared to continuously replace them as the fish like to eat them!
