NO! The glass slippers complemented the dress. Blue Suede shoes would have taken away from it and then the Prince may have fallen in love with one of the ugly stepsisters!

I am personally a pretty big fan of blue suede shoes. I have six pairs in my closet.
Actually, in the original story from France, Cinderella wore "verre" slippers, which is French for fur. (I dunno, they were like mink or something. Very classy. Very expensive.) When it was translated into English verre was taken for it's alternative meaning-glass.
So if Princey-boy could do a woman with dead animals on her feet, I think he could deal with some blue suede. Personal opinion.

Sure and according to Brothers Grimm it wasn't even a glass slipper, or high heel. It was a white and gold cloth slipper.
