Fruits Basket...my favorite, it's funny, makes you cry and has romance, but none of those aspects overwhelm the plot, a perfect blend.
Let Dai...a shonen-ai title (well it's manhwa:Korean/not Japanese but I'll call it shonen-ai anyway), some people are put off by same sex relationship comics (maybe because they seem to only involve s-x), but this one isn't about the physical aspect of the relationship, which a lot of yaoi focuses on/ and w/ a lot of shonen-ai the plot is not especially good, perhaps just fan service. But in Let Dai the plot is interesting/characters are developed and the story is not just about the relationship of the two boys, it's about the people in their lives and how they are effected by their decisions, not just in love.
NANA...drama-filled, funny, and I like the art style of Yazawa
I'm reading quite a few series...but I'll leave it at this...
