Canada has been part of the Space program practically from it's inception in the '60s as we had and still have a very advanced Aerospace industry. We designed and manufactured many of the components for vehicles going into space.

Dude the Canadarm! You know that little arm in the back of shuttles that allows Astronauts to work on and repair satellites and assembles the international space station. All Canada! There is also a Canadarm on the space station. We love our remote manupulator systems in Canada.

Our neighbors did the big manipulator arm without which the shuttle would be a useless garbage can. Imagine moving tons of mass many meters away with millimeter precision. Lets see you do that and have it work in the harshness of space.

We are also very good at tiny things that do big jobs. For example, the MOST telescope (Microvariability and Oscillation of STar). It is the size of suitcase. We humbly call it the "Humble" telescope.
For what it does (detecting small variations in star intensities) it is better than the Hubble, because MOST is a specialized telescope for that particular purpose. (Hubble is a fantastic all-purpose telescope).
