Do I have any rights here in Pa.? I've been employed there since 1997 and always had excellent appraisals. Any advice would be helpful

Were you on Workmen's Compensation? That means were you injured at work? If not, I don't think there is much you can do about it. Employers in Pennsylvania have a lot of discretion about hiring and firing. They don't have to have a reason. It happened to my daughter once. They just cut her job and she was gone. They don't have to provide you a job. You could talk to a lawyer about it, just in case things have changed. That was about 18 years ago.

As far as the state law, not sure. If you were out on FMLA, they can not fire you unless they have made an announcement about layoffs and are currently laying (spelling???) people off.
