In the past, my hand has hurt from writing, but I haven't had to take an exam in a quarter of a century, and I do almost all by "writing" on keyboards.

No, I was a chemistry major and an engineering major in grad school.
My hand hurts after cutting up a leg of lamb into stew sized pieces. It hurt for a few days.
The stew was worth it. It was a Lamb and White Bean Stew with Savory.

It could be carpal tunnel syndrome. I have it also it's getting to be very common now days I think because of all the typing on computers people do. Check and see if wearing a brace on your hand helps. You can get them at CVS, Walmart etc.

Yep, happens to everyone at some point. It's caused by fatigue in the muscles, ligaments, and tendons in your hand and wrist

It always happened to me when I was in college. The worst is during finals week when you'll have two tests back-to-back.

That is normal. It happens to me too. Just shake it and it will get better quickly unless you have arthritis.
