Well, this questions has two answers (always fun) If memory serves me Richie McDonald and Billy Dean wrote the song together and Lonestar released it 1st as part of the Greatest Hits compilation and then Billy Dean released it on his album as well (some may remember the cover of John Denver's "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" - same album. I believe TGICB is the title track) ...hope this helps. :)
