first i think it's sweet that he doesn't want you to cause he can't be there, but he also needs to understand that your b-day is only once a year and to blow it off until he gets back would be very greedy of him to ask.. and i know that when it was my b-day alot of us were broke so we were gonna do it the next weekend, and by time that came i wasn't even in the mood cause it wasn't really my b-day.. so i say tell him your not gonna over do it, (even if you do) and you will stay with (girls name) the whole time and make sure your home by (whatever time the bars close).. you just dont' want to blow off something like this just because he cant be there, you so wish he could but its really not fair to you that first you have to be without him for your b-day and now he's asking you or telling you not to do anything.. thats not right at all, you wouldn't do that to him... good luck and very, very best wishes and i hope that you have a very happy happy birthday.. i will be going out this whole weekend too and i will be thinking of you when i take some shots.. =)

If you don't go he will win- and yet where he is so far away you don't know what he is doing.
Explain to him that you are going to celebrate your birthday and that if he was here he could babysit you like he sounds like he has to do! He is trying to control you and doesn't want you to have fun without him.
If he threatens or breaks up with you it is more his loss than yours- most controlling leads to abuse later and you DO NOT want that. He has to understand that it is your birthday and obviously you are old enough to handle yourself. Also explain to him- you will not drink to much and get that drunk - and if you do then you had a better time than you thought - never promise anything you can not keep!!

GO...just know what your drinking limit is & when to STOP! You should have fun with your friends on your birthday! Who ever says that you can't means they don't trust you, which tells me they don't trust themselves! You only live once! You are in charge of your destiny, take the reins and ENJOY!! :)

is there any reason YOU have for not going other than your being told not to? is your bf tinking he's protecting you from some bad trait he believes you have? or is he attempting to control you because of jealousy or other reasons. it's your mind, make your own decisions based on what you feel is right or let others and accept the consequences.

I say go and if he doesn't want you to get drunk then don't! No one is forcing you to drink to get drunk. Just promise him that you won't get drunk or let anyone get you drunk and stay true to your word. You can still have a wonderful time without getting drunk.

ask your bf if you can go see him and spend that time with him...if its not possible then explain to him that this special moment in your life u dont want to spend alone...if he cares about you then your happiness is important...call him from there and make him feel part of it....it only works when two people make each other happy, because they are happy with themselves
